CEO, Jaime Hepp, lead his team of young leaders to skid row for the Thanksgiving holiday to give back.

TAG lifted holiday spirits & surprised the homeless community downtown LA with generous care packages, Thanksgiving morning.

Dec. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Over 20 volunteers TAG served the homeless of downtown Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Day. Unselfishly, the volunteers not only donated their time on this holiday, but gift packages were handed out to over 60 people that included food, shoes, and basic clothing.  During our little journey on skid row, TAG ran in to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who was also serving the needy.  He was very pleased to see that a business in his city was motivated to serve the people that need the most amount of help. The weather was nice, the people were awesome and very grateful, it was an ultimate win, win. People helping people is a very powerful thing.

"It's difficult to go downtown to skid row.  It's hard to imagine that in one of the most influential cities in the world, we have so many people that live day to day struggling to meet their physical needs, let alone their emotional and spiritual needs.  The people that we met downtown were happy to see us and they were in really good spirits.  It was fun to hang out with them and talk with them.  I think they appreciated people from outside of their world coming down and treating them like normal every day citizens talking sports, family, etc" said owner Jaime Hepp.

Assistant manager, Jinu Park gained perspective and was inspired by his experience. "I had the privilege of going to a place called Skid Row," he said, "to hand out care packages to the homeless/needy. Growing up in a small island (Guam), I never realized how many people were out of jobs, in the streets, and hungry. This was a different experience for me as I walked down the rugged streets of Los Angeles. As I heard a festival with live band music, there were a line of people waiting to get into a show that LA County hosts every year for Thanksgiving. During that time, I met a man, who played the harmonica. He didn't have the capability to communicate with me, but the sound of the harmonica, was music to my ears. He played with such excitement and not once did I think, for that brief two minutes that he played, that he was less fortunate. He just had this attitude about him, and it really changed my perspective of life. It really made me think that no matter where in life, I am thankful for everything that has been provided for me, and that I've been selfish. And no matter what happens, he made me realize that I shouldn't complain about all the small/negative things that come my way. Thank you for the wake up call Mr. Musician in the Street!" Jinu will be back again to contribute next year!

Leader Rachel Dickhute stated, "I was honestly suprised by how talkative these people were that we were helping. They were so happy that they opened up to us about their families and their backgrounds, it was great to spend time with them and learn about what they were grateful for. Lots of them had stories about living all over the country and said they were thankful just to be in LA, and THAT really opened my eyes to all the things I should be thankful for."

Congratulations to Jaime Hepp and his team for another successful community outreach event. Your leadership and generosity is truly an inspiration to your team, your community, and your country. Kuddos to all at TAG who participated in making this Thanksgiving a much better holiday for many people in our city!
